I have served Burlingame for nearly a decade as a member and two-time Chairperson of the Planning Commission. I am also the ongoing Chair of the Neighborhood Consistency Subcommittee and have worked effectively with both current and former council members to implement Burlingame's creative and successful review process.

My constant interaction with local government allows me to see, on a first-hand basis, what must be done to keep our community strong. Among the issues I have identified and have committed to address are:

-Development of a Community Center and additions to our current Recreation Center to benefit the entire community from teens to seniors
-Expanding and developing our recreational opportunities for our growing families who engage in soccer, softball, tennis, walking, swimming, bicycling and other recreational activities
-Involving seniors in expanding and improving our senior services
-Pedestrian friendly access to our newly constructed recreation complex and bayfront area.
-Strengthening support for Burlingame schools and our children
-Protection of our trees
-Mitigation of adverse impacts from mass transit
-Solutions for downtown parking problems using our newly authorized parking study
-Encouraging responsible growth to enhance our tax base
-Updating the Broadway and Burlingame Avenue commercial areas while keeping the existing Magnolia trees
-Commercial design review and facade program
-Being an independent voice not tied to special interests or political slates

I will work to maintain the delicate balance between safe, secure neighborhoods for our families and successful commercial districts for a healthy business community. I will continue my efforts to protect Burlingame's traditional beauty while making local government more efficient and user-friendly.
