My Priorities

By Catherine Bonnar

Candidate for Governing Board Member; Belmont - Redwood Shores School District

This information is provided by the candidate
As the school district faces the ongoing challenges of its recent rapid growth, I want to continue to ensure quality programs and to provide the best possible education to all of our children.
I am committed to continuing:

  • Strong academic core programs, encompassing both student mastery of basic skills and higher order thinking.

  • Prudent use of Measure B funds to upgrade and expand our facilities to meet the challenges of our recent rapid growth and to ensure a quality learning environment for our children.

  • Our commitment to student safety.

  • Fully involving parents and the community in district policymaking.

  • The district's commitment to small class size.

  • Strong science and math programs.

  • Utilization of technology as a tool for achieving student excellence.

  • Strong visual and performing arts programs.

  • Positive, forward-moving relationships between the School District and the cities of Belmont and Redwood Shores.

I am supported by a wide cross section of our community because:

  • I have been an effective leader on the School Board.

  • I have a history of commitment to our children and to the district.

  • I listen and respond to the concerns of the entire district.

I want to continue this important work.
