SHELBY VALENTINE for School Board

"Our schools are rebuilding infrastructure and expanding academic programs. During this time of changes, our schools need an energetic, capable and caring school board member who is prepared to maintain firm budget controls, while promoting a vision with long-term planning. I am that person."

  • LINK SPENDING TO INCOME

It is essential to maintain our district's fiscal integrity as we budget for today's students and also plan for future Palo Altans. I will vigorously monitor expenditures and explore additional funding sources.

  • PROVIDE SOUND POLICIES

The school district's excellence depends on the quality of the board's policies. I will promote forward thinking policies and assure periodic review.

  • RESTORE SUPPORT TO PROGRAMS

Many programs, nationally recognized for their excellence, lost support through budget cuts in recent years and need restoring before we incorporate additional curriculum.

  • CAPABLE AND CARING

"Our school district's reputation for excellence, for all students, is very important to me. If elected, I will work to strike a balance between community participation and the board's decisions and use my energy, perseverance and knowledge to make a positive difference."

Vote SHELBY VALENTINE . . . Capable and Caring
