Burbank Sanitary District Biography - As an editor/owner of the only neighborhood newsletter I attended meetings held by the Sanitary District. In 1995 I ran uncontested for one of the open seats.

The District had recently switched garbage hauler companies. The switch had to do with new Federal guidelines for waste disposal percentages that had caused the rates to increase dramatically. Since then a new and better contract has been brought forward from Green Valley.

In 1996 helped organized a first ever District Clean-Up Day. Each year I have continued to organize the event. In 1997 when the Secretary/Treasurer demanded that the stipend be doubled I took over and have served as a volunteer ever since.

I oppose the notion that the "District has not been signing warrants according to State code and not being 'legal' with District expenditures". The Board has been accused of operating improperly by the past Secretary/Treasurer. Each time the Board has asked an attorney for opinions and advice, which has had a cost of hundreds of dollars to the District. In each case the Attorney has stated that the Board is acting within State Laws and provisions.

As Secretary I have set up the first District designated phone line and address, adding more professionalism to this small district.
