By Maureen Aschoff

Candidate for Governing Board Member; Orange Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Achievements include a nationally respected English Immersion program, a Science Magnet School and the first Charter School in Orange County.
Over the last four years, we have seen the district become a financially sound and efficient business that educates over 30,000 students. All diverse cultures have exceeded academic expectations; the children are learning with a nationally respected English Immersion program, focusing on high academic standards and expectations for students as well as teachers. These achievements have been accomplished while saving the taxpayer ( you) over $100 million in a few short years. I have supported : Community Control of Schools; 20 to 1 Class Size; Lower Mello-Roos tax rates; Science-Technology Magnet School; Higher Academic Standards; High Test Scores; Charter Schools;and Business and Community Partnerships
