Political Philosophy for John M. Noerr

Candidate for
Director; Southern Marin Fire Protection District

This information is provided by the candidate

I have been a member of the Southern Marin Fire District board since 1996. As such I have been a prime advocate of district consolidation and an active board member in understanding and solving the issues confronting the merger of the Alto Richardson Bay and Tamalpais Fire Districts. The current fire district personnel are well trained and highly motivated to provide superior emergency services to our community. The operation is well equipped with modern apparatus and facilities acquired in the recent past. A continuation of this philosophy is the key goal of the current board including myself. Fire service is only part of the picture. Emergency services include paramedic and ambulatory services which are a dominant part of a board member's responsibilities. All of these services can be provided within prudent budgets. The merger has helped in efficint use of budgetted funds, including a decrease in special property taxes imposed on our communities. The new board's goal must include a continuation of these tax reductions while maintaining our superior level of emergency services.
