We Owe Our Children a Good Education

We must educate our students to be productive citizens. We owe it to them and future generations. For too long the state has starved the schools, particularly low wealth districts such as Novato Unified. There has been little money provided for upkeep or refurbishing existing schools. Class sizes have been too large and continue to be so in grades 4-12. The community has supported the schools with a $98 parcel tax but this has eroded with time. Parents, teachers and community members have raised extra funds to support a better program than funded by the state. The district does exceptionally well with the funds it has but more funding is needed to provide our children with the kind of education we owe them.
