Candidate for
Director; Tamalpais Community Services District

This information is provided by the candidate

EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Anthropology

BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS: Tamalpais Valley has been my home for more than 25 years, first as a teenager and young adult and, since 1990, as a homeowner. Having witnessed rapidly increasing housing and traffic problems in Tam Valley over the past 35 years, I became involved in local issues in the early 1990s. My interest in retaining our semi-rural environment resulted in my appointment to the Tamalpais Community Services District (TCSD) Park and Recreation Commission, a position I held from 1994 until 1998, at which time the TCSD Board of Directors appointed me to complete a term on the Board of Directors.

During the past 18 months as a TCSD Director and, previously, as a Park and Recreation Commissioner, I have actively participated in District decisions that have directly affected our community and quality of life. Those decisions included upgrading the Tamalpais Valley Community Center, reducing graffiti in our neighborhoods and parks, more effectively managing District lands and infrastructure, and implementing curbside green-waste collection. If elected, my vote on District matters always will support efficient and cost-effective community services provided by the TCSD.
