Political Philosophy for Peter F. Kilkus

Candidate for
Member, Town Council; Town of San Anselmo

This information is provided by the candidate

My name is Peter Kilkus and I've lived in San Anselmo for more than twenty years. I've been lucky enough to travel around the world, but to me San Anselmo remains the best place to live and to raise a family, as I've done.

I know San Anselmo is a place where one person can make a difference. I see it in our Town committees, our dedicated volunteers, and the people of the San Anselmo 2000 campaign. I personally want to make a difference and help keep San Anselmo a vigorous and evolving community by serving as a Town Councilmember.

My personal expectations of any candidate, including myself, are that they be:

Intelligent: Smart enough to understand complex issues.

Thoughtful: Can stop and think clearly and calmly without making simplistic assumptions.

Analytical: Uses data and research rather than opinion to support positions.

Understanding: Able to get behind the other person's eyes, in their head and heart.

Involved: Being part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Reliable: Say what you'll do, and do what you say.
