CITY CENTER TO INCLUDE ART THEATER AND LIBRARY

By William "Bill" Meine

Candidate for Council Member; City of San Ramon

This information is provided by the candidate
The city can retain the tax dollars generated by the city that now goes to the county library system with a city owned and operated library program.
The city center must include a cultural arts theater as well as a city owned and operated library facility. The city generates approximately $900,000.00 in taxes that now goes to the county library program. An additional $250,000.00 is charged by the county to keep the library open for more convenient hours. The city should secede from the county system and have a city owned and operated library for a lot less than it is costing now.
