I have a proven track record of stretching available dollars to meet school needs. While other candidates speak of 20 years as a teacher or an administrator, I represent both an educational AND business perspective, something sorely needed to deal with our fiscal crisis. I currently work in an educational setting, helping teachers obtain needed supplies with limited funds, an experience not unknown to West County teachers. Unlike most of the candidates, my educational background is in public policy and govenment administration. I know how to write grants, read budgets, lobby officials, and understand the myriad rules school districts in California must operate under.

I am independent, but work well in a team setting. The school board should be a team of colleagues working together on common goals. If elected, I will treat my colleagues and the community with respect. I will listen, research, and then decide based on the facts. I have faith in our new Superintendent and fully support her goals.

Politics should have no place on the school board- the focus should be on providing the best education possible for the children in West Contra County.

There are many challenges before us, but there is much opportunity. Please join me in making West Contra Costa Schools places of learning and success.
