Education:

The Mt Diablo school District is responsible for schools in Pleasant Hill. The Quality of Education is also their responsibilty. The quality of life which includes getting to and while on campus is OUR shared responsibilty. Crowded campuses are not safe campuses. Inadequate facilities disrupt the learning process of our children. Poor school facilities, not only affects our childrens education, but affects property values. Children living in Pleasant Hill, should attend schools in Pleasant Hill, including High School.

Traffic:

This is one of the biggest problems facing Pleasant Hill. As we approve developments here we must continue to look at ways to get in and out without jeopardizing neighborhood streets. I am willing to try creative ways to move traffic and reduce congestion, especially in our neighborhoods. Road closures that move traffic to another neigborhood is not acceptable.

Improved Business Relationships:

Pleasant Hill does not receive property tax revenue, therefore sales tax and business license fees are critical. The sales tax & fees makeup 65% of the budget for Police and Public Works. We as a council must listen to the concerns of the business community and encourage them to stay and be a part of our community. We must make sure that we are receptive to those changes that make the busiess community successful. This does not mean supporting development that jeopardize the integrity of our neighborhoods.
