My Vision for our future

By Thomas E. "Tom" Vargas

Candidate for Council Member; City of Livermore

This information is provided by the candidate
My vision for Livermore is one of a nicely planned, well-balanced city with an urban limit line completely surrounding our community. We will have maintained our small town ambience and rural character. The South Livermore plan will be nearing completion and our wine country will be a vibrant part of our economy. North Livermore will have a plan adopted and our city will be in control of the area, not the County. We will have diverse housing, employment and shopping opportunities that are easily accessed by the community from a variety of transportation modes. Our vibrant downtown will have entertainment, dining and shopping and will serve as the focal point for community activities including the performing arts center, hotel and conference center, central park and the Chabot-Las Positas offices and learning center. Our city will continue to be a leader in public safety and high quality schools and, as a result of the strong, diverse tax base, will be able to meet and exceed the changing needs of our residents.
