Political Philosophy for Larry Booth

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Hayward Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I want to be a positive contributor to the governing body that restores pride in Hayward's Schools, makes decisions that effectively reduce the impact of over crowding, and develops a partnership with parents and community that truly leads to an understanding of how to assist children in becoming successful life long learners. As a teaching assistant in a Hayward elementary classroom, part of my assigment is to design and deliver curriculum in science and geography. I understand the challenges that face students at all levels of the learning spectrum. Hayward's Schools currently rank below the 50th percentile in state testing. We must insure that teachers, students and parents are given effective tools and assistance to help meet the new State Academic Standards. Projected increases in enrollment will continue to impact our limited classroom space. We must develop a workable, realistic and permanent plan to house Hayward's students. The success of Hayward Schools requires a trustee that is diligent, collaborative and far sighted.I invite you to become part of restoring pride to Hayward's schools. Vote for Larry Booth
