OVERT DISCRIMINATION

By Jessie D. McDonald

Candidate for Mayor

This information is provided by the candidate
There are overt forms of discrimination that is applied to individuals who pay equal taxes, but are denied certain opportunities that are allowed to other individuals, based solely on social prejudices, which are not related to color and race, but are connected directly to physical disabilities and sexual preferances and these people are excluded from active employment in the local governments.
Being a member of the black race, I have experienced the pains of racial discrimination and I cannot, in good conscience impose any form of discrimination on any person, for any reason. - If these people are doing wrong in the eyes of God, then that is between them and the lord and I cannot attempt to do the lord's job. I have a duty to apply even treatment to everone, without reservation.- I have never opened a door of any public office and saw a handicapped person, or a person who is considered to be gay. These people pay equal tax in every form of the word and they are not included in the operational functions of the local and state governments.- When I am elected as mayor, I will allow all persons an equal and equitable opportunity to compete for every position that is available and if they can perform, every candidate will be allowed to compete, without the fear of discrimination. - There will be no room in my administration for discrimination in any form.- I would like to use the remaining space to let you know that the next administrator has the duty to make solid judgments. I am glad that I did not support the Dell deal as the top 3 did.
