By Lawrence H. "Larry" Hart

Candidate for Council; District 8

This information is provided by the candidate
The mission of the I.D.D. is to upgrade, enhace, and beautify the area along Gallatin Pike in the 8th District.
In 1995, the area along Gallatin Pike in the 8th District was deteriorating and was poised to threaten property values in Inglewood. I formed the I.D.D. to turn this situation around. The I.D.D. began with the following specific goals:

1. To creat a Main Entrance for Inglewood;
2. To identiy Inglewood through signs;
3. To beautify the area along Gallatin Pike;
4. To attact new business to the area.

All of the above goals have been accomplished. With donated funds and community volunteers, an attractive Main Entrance to Inglewood has been constructed and signs have been posted at the entrances to Inglewood. A project to plant shrubs along Gallatin Pike was initiated and continues. Many new businesses have come to Inglewood.

The I.D.D.'s future plans include a playground and a memorial for Issac Litton on the Litton school grounds.
