Jim has a proven track record being tough on crime as Prosecutor; and proven experience and skills demonstrated over his 32 years as a trial lawyer and Prosecutor. His record as Prosecutor shows that he is a "no nonsense" - "get tough on Crime" - Prosecutor. He has exhibited the leadership needed in representing the People and the County, as Co-Chair of the Snohomish County Law & Justice Council, Trustee of the Washington State Prosecutors Association, and as a Board member of Snohomish County Drug Task Force. He has brought private business management skills to the Office from his years as a private business owner, to better serve the public.

Jim is dedicated to continuing his leadership in Juvenile Justice issues and attempts to find solutions to the ever increasing problems with the system. He believes in juvenile and parent accountability for violations of the law; and that punishment is fair, swift and sure. As Prosecutor, Jim has sponsored two county-wide conferences on Juvenile Justice and has been instrumental in bringing together law enforcement, schools, human services and the justice system, to work on the problem. He is a Board member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters.
