Public Services -- Who provides

By Robert D. Wilberg

Candidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 73

This information is provided by the candidate
Should our public serviced be contracted out to the private sector?
Robert D. Wilberg is currently a County of Orange park employee and understands the importance and benefits public parks play in our society. The pressure to privatize public services, especially in our park system, must be seriously challenged. Our park system is meant to provide enjoyment for the residents and not a profit base for some contractor. His experience has taught him that the function of government at any level is to provide services for residents that live in the jurisdiction and not to provide a guaranteed profit for the private sector. The principals of business cannot be applied to the management of government because government is controlled from the voters up, and business is controled from CEO's down.
