Position Papers
A Proposal to Save California Taxpayers Money on State Prisons
California has declared war on crime – increasing the penalties on criminals and increasing the funding available for law enforcement. As a result, crime rates in California have plummeted, our streets are safer, and our prisons are full. Pringle proposes commonsense changes to the way prison construction is financed to save taxpayers nearly $400 million while meeting our public safety needs.
A Proposal to Reform the Budget Process and Improve California's Bond Rating
"California must be more fiscally responsible. Just like families must save for the future and have a plan for unexpected expenses and emergencies, so must California. This proposal will greatly improve the budget process and the economic soundness of our state."
A Proposal to Bring the State Treasurer's Office into the 21st Century
"This proposal would take advantage of available technology to improve California's bond bidding system. Not only would the process be simplified, but also make it easier to find the best interest rates from a larger pool of bidding entities. Californians could be assured that the Treasurer's office has the ability to find the best possible rates for their hard earned tax dollars."
