Full Biography for James R. Goetz

Candidate for
United States Representative; District 13

Mr. Goetz assumed his current position as a supervisor of embedded software engineering and testing for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space Company, Sunnyvale California, in 1997. In the 12 years prior to this assignment, his positions have included: software subcontract manager; project data systems architect; responsible engineer for subcontracted software and firmware development efforts; lead systems engineer for communications and control; and responsible engineer for mission management.

Mr. Goetz joined Lockheed in 1985 from Control Data Corporation where he served from 1977 to 1985 as an aerospace and systems engineering consultant.

From 1972 to 1977, Mr. Goetz served on active duty with the US Army as commissioned officer. Following his return to private industry in 1977, he continued to serve in the active US Army reserve until 1985. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal and two awards of the Army Commendation Medal.

Mr. Goetz was born in Odessa, Texas on December 31,1947. He holds a bachelor of science degree in physics and a master of science degree in mathematics from Midwestern University and a master of business administration degree from Santa Clara University.

Mr. Goetz has been married to Florence since 1974. They have four children and have resided in Fremont, California since 1980.
