Full Biography for Myrtle Walker

Candidate for
Council Member; City of East Palo Alto

I have served for fourteen years as an elected official in my community. Nine years as a trustee on the Ravenswood School Board (2 yrs. as President) and five years on the City Council. I currently serve on the Palo Alto Art Center Guild as the East Palo Alto Bd. Member, East Palo Alto Friends of the Library, Co-Chair, Menlo Oaks School Site Council, Ravenswood School District Advisory Committee. I served as the Representative of the City of East Palo Alto to the City and County Association of Governments for four years. My past volunteer experience includes: San Mateo County Children's Executive Council,San Mateo County School Boards Association President, California School Boards Association Delegate Assembly, Black Caucus; National School Boards Association I also served as Mistress of Ceremonies for Assemblyman Ted Lempert and Proxy to the California Democratic Convention for Senator Byron Sher. I am a widower,having recently lost my husband William to Lukemia, and I am raising my grand-son Jonathan, 13, who is the light of my life.
