QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Appointed in 1998 by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (N.O.A.A.) to a 4-year term on the Montery Bay National Marine Sanctuary (M.B.N.M.S.). Current holder of the Diving Seat and the sole Representative selected from San Mateo County to serve on this prestigious twenty-member Sanctuary Advisory Council (S.A.C.).

Vessel Owner (Power and Sail) for 25 years including three years live aboard experience.

Current Owner - Documented Commerical Fishing Vessel, "F/V Penny Mist," a 1927 Monterey build double ender berthed at Pillar Point (F dock, slip #10).

Lifelong sport fisherman and current holder of California Commercial Fishing LIcense.

H-2 Firefighter (25 years experience), San Francisco Fire Department assigned to San Francisco International Airport Fire Station No. 1. Current position: Fireboat Pilot.

President of the Board of Directors of Coastside Preservation and Recreation Inc., a California Non-Profit Land Trust based in Montara/Moss Beach.

Owner/Operator Black Mountain Construction Company.

Certified Marine Pilot for San Mateo County based San Francisco Fireboats "James S. Nutley" and "S.F.O. Eagle".

National Association of Underwater Instructors (N.A.U.I.) certified S.C.U.B.A. diver since 1967.

Rescue Swimmer and Diver certificates.

Advanced First Aid and C.P.R. cards.

High Angle Rescue, Swift and Open Water certifications.

Small Boat Handling and Safety Course completion, San Mateo Power Squadron (U.S.C.G. auxiliary).

Attended the 3rd International Abalone Symposium at the Asilomar Conference Center in Monterey, California in 1997 and plan to attend the 4th International Abalone Symposium in the year 2000 in Capetown, South Africa.
