Political Philosophy for Richard "Rich" Landi

Candidate for
Member, Board of Directors; San Mateo Harbor District; 4 Year Seat

This information is provided by the candidate

Who is Rich Landi?. . . .I am a lifetime resident of San Mateo County currently residing in (unincorporated) Redwood City with my family. I have 36 years experience in the wastewater control field helping to keep our ocean and bay waters pollution free. I worked 19 years for a public agency/special district and operate my own company providing specialized services to assist public agencies and industry with their wastewater needs. I am a 22 year member of the Palomar Park Volunteer Fire Department; currently serving as Chief.

On June 3, 1998 I was appointed to fill an unexpired term on the San Mateo County Harbor District. The Commission interviewed eleven applicants and I was chosen to fill the vacancy. The Commission governs Pillar Point Harbor in El Granada and Oyster Point Marina in South San Francisco.

Some very important issues facing the District are development of adequate facilities at Oyster Point Marina and Pillar Point Harbor to insure the growth of the commercial fishing fleet and provide the general public with first rate recreational areas. The District is exploring the potential for water transit services (ferries) to provide commuter services within San Francisco Bay from Oyster Point Marina. The corporate and business communities are very interested in this concept and are hopeful this service will help alleviate traffic congestion on our highways.

I am seeking to retain my seat as a Commissioner and will work to see that your tax dollar is spend wisely. I believe I have the experience and expertise to contribute to making San Mateo County Harbor District one of the best in the State.

I ask for your support. Your vote will make a difference!
