BIOGRAPHY for Colleen Jordan

Born in Fresno to an American father and a Colombian mother, Colleen spent her childhood in Bogota, Colombia, adolescence in Bakersfield and college years in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California.

With a double major in Political Science and International Relations, Colleen's interest in politics started early. Working on campaigns in and after college, she ended up working for a US Congressman. Thereafter, the investment business, another interest, lured her away, leaving politics as an avocation.

Colleen began her financial career as a financial advisor with Prudential-Bache Securities in 1987. A keen interest in financial and retirement planning eventually led her to the company she has worked for since March of 1995, PR Taylor Associates, an investment management consulting firm.

As Vice President, Colleen developed and refined the internal and external processes associated with running a leading edge 401(k) program for demanding, fast-growing Silicon Valley companies, the Silicon Valley 401(k) plan. Currently, she leads the marketing and sales efforts for PR Taylor's 401(k) and retirement plan business, and oversees administrative operations to make sure the group operates as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.

Colleen moved to Redwood City in early 1995. As a homeowner in Redwood City, she is active in the Redwood Shores Homeowner's Association and the Redwood City/San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce. Her main goals as a Council member would be to help improve city residents' quality of life, upgrade the city's appearance, especially in the major thoroughfares, and reduce City spending.
