Few things make a difference in a child's life like a good teacher in a good school. Our biggest challenge will be to realize the vision of our modernization plan, and in so doing provide a full middle school program for the students of our district.
It is essential that our children feel that they have a safe, supportive environment in which to learn, and that our teachers have the resources they need to teach. As technology becomes an increasingly important part of the classroom, our facilities modernization program takes on that much more importance.
As the state of California implements new academic standards in each of the main subject areas, the board will need to monitor the implementation of those standards and anticipate costs associated with the programs that will be needed.
Active participation by parents, community members, businesses, and civic leaders is essential to the quality of our children's education.
