Shall the City increase pension benefits for police officers hired after 1976?
Summary Prepared by League of Women Voters of San Francisco:
Charter Amendment Placed on the ballot by Board of Supervisors by a vote of 10-0.

This charter amendment would increase pension benefits for police officers hired after 1976. A police officer could receive pension benefits of up to 75% of final salary. A disabled police officer could receive a pension between 50% and 90% of final salary, depending on degree of disability. Final salary would be redefined as the salary earned during the police officer's last year of service. Limits would be placed on the amount that additional professional training could increase a police officer's pension.
