Full Biography for Bonnie K. Yamaoka

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Saratoga Union School District

My family has lived in Santa Clara County for over 85 years. I grew up in Sunnyvale and attended schools in the Sunnyvale School District and Fremont Union High School District. After graduating from Fremont Union High School in 1970, I attended the University of Southern California and graduated in 1974. In 1990, I moved to Saratoga to raise my two children because of Saratoga's excellent public schools.

During the past six years I have been an active volunteer at my children's school. My involvement includes:

• Assisting in the classroom with enrichment programs and art docent lessons
• Teaching computer skills and tutoring math
• Co-chair of several PTA committees
• PTA President, Saratoga School
• Parent representative for Saratoga School on district-wide facilities modernization and planning committee
• Member of Facility Site Committee that reviews, revises, and approves the basic modernization design of Saratoga School
