Candidate for
City Council; City of Morgan Hill

This information is provided by the candidate

Morgan Hill today faces many challenges and opportunities. I am the only candidate for City Council who grew up here. That experience, combined with my extensive community involvement and professional achievements give me the experience and leadership to help us make the most of our future.

Investing in Youth. The best way to a brighter future is to invest in our children. As a parent of children who attend local schools, I will make sure our schools and our city coordinate their efforts, and that we work together to provide facilities and programs--from libraries to parks to swimming pools--that will help our young people be their best.

Public Safety. If we don't feel secure in our homes and neighborhoods, nothing else matters. We must stabilize funding for our police force, and expand successful community policing programs throughout Morgan Hill.

Making the most of our RDA. I worked with community members and local businesses to leverage RDA funds that brought hundreds of thousands of dollars in private investment into Morgan Hill's downtown. We can maximize future RDA funds by seeking opportunities that will multiply our efforts.

Growing at Our Own Rate. Our ability to control our growth is one of Morgan Hill's greatest assets. Today, the most important issue is not how fast we grow, but how well.I have always been a strong supporter of Measure P and other efforts to control our growth, but I believe we can do more to make sure our community grows in ways that are appropriate and contribute to making our community even better.

Regional Leadership. Our small town is greatly affected by San Jose and other, larger government agencies. I know and work with leaders throughout Silicon Valley, and will use those ties to make sure Morgan Hill's needs--in transportation, growth and other areas--are addressed.
