Political Philosophy for Michael J. Mendizabal

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Milpitas Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate

With all four of my children in Milpitas public schools, from the elementary level up to the high school, I understand the importance of active parent involvement in our educational system. I serve on the PTA and school site councils at all three of my children's schools and I am the chairperson of the Community Board Advisory Council, serving as a liason between parents and school district officials. I am a member of the district's Bond Oversight Committee and the former chairperson of the Budget Committee.

As a nineteen-year employee of the City of San Jose, in charge of public works construction projects totaling over $20 million, I oversee quality control, safety, inspection personnel and construction costs. With our school district in the process of it's largest building phase in decades, this experience along with my deep involvement in every aspect of Milpitas schools, makes me doubly qualified for the position of school board member.

With the sweeping changes facing our local and state educational systems, I look forward to bringing my common sense approach and problem-solving abilities to our school board. Vote Michael J. Mendizabal for Milpitas Unified School District Board Member.
