Issues Facing Saratoga:

1. The addition of Highway 85 and accelerated development prior to the passage of Measure G have caused enormous increases in traffic and noise in Saratoga. I will work with other cities and transportation authorities to mitigate traffic and noise.

2. Short-sighted decisions have had irreversible long term consequences for our city. I will take the long term view to ensure that city decisions are good for the future of our city.

3. Saratoga's once-pristine creeks have been allowed to deteriorate. We have no industry here that would pollute these creeks. Fecal matter from broken sewer lines and septic systems has been allowed to seep into the creeks, with the city stalling efforts to fix the problem. I will work to reverse this trend and restore our creeks.

4. Saratoga Village has lost "critical mass" in terms of a mix of a retail stores that would make the village a destination for shoppers. I will work with village landlords and retailers to restore village vitality.

5. Saratoga's youth programs have been slighted by the city. Some activities appear to be available only to youth residing in Saratoga school districts. I will make Saratoga youth programs a priority and will work to include all of Saratoga's youth.
