Eleven year Saratoga resident. Owner of a Village business. Married to wife Anne. Soccer dad for our seven year old daughter.

I love the sense of community I found in Saratoga and will work to bring Saratogans together. I pledge to run a clean campaign and will not accept money from special interest groups or PACs.

I believe an important function of city government is to provide the infrastructure used by residents and businesses, such as roads, recreational facilities and parks. I pledge to take the long view in city issues.

I have been committed to cleaning up Saratoga Creek from the moment I saw foamy effluent pouring out of a sewer pipe into the creek at Wildwood Park six years ago. I pledge to clean up the creek and make it safe for our children to play in again.

I have seen enormous increases in traffic in the Village, around highway 85, and throughout Saratoga. I pledge to oppose changes that will exacerbate our city's traffic problems, and I will work to find solutions wherever possible. I pledge to continue working to mitigate the noise caused by Highway 85 in Saratoga.

I campaigned for Measure G and promise to work to implement it as the voters intended. I oppose development beyond the scope of the city's general plan.

Saratoga is a residential community with very limited sources of revenue. I support fiscal responsibility and wise use of our limited funds.

I believe that city government should be courteous and service oriented. I will work to make the planning process more consistent and uniformly applied.

I promise to listen to and act on your concerns, and to make the city council more accessible to residents. Please vote for John Mehaffey November third.
