Fiscal Responsibility

By Theodore "Ted" McElhone

Candidate for Councilmember; City of Campbell

This information is provided by the candidate
Campbell Can fix past fiscal errors. Re-use of the two-million-dollar, trans-located and restored "Gingerbread House" is one positive example
The City has limited money for parks; yet, it spent $2,000,000.00 in transferring a "cute" house formerly located in another city, placing it on the site of the proposed future police and city administration building.

Fiscal responsibility is a must if we are to budget and wisely use our money for important things like assisting our Town's parents raise the Town's kids

The city can responsibly use this $250,000 value by making the house part of the library system. A pre-reader, Montessori style program for pre-school kids in the building, would assist parents in preparing their children for those important first years of school. A story reading program and hands-on experience with toys and books, a social program for learning about other children, a skill check program to spot children's talents -- all these and more would bring returns more valuable than a restored building that unfortunately receives so few visits.

I hope you agree. If not call me..
