Teen Center Offers Opportunities for Residents and Young Alike to Make Life Better in Campbell
In 1996, as an active candidate for Director of Open Space, I was fighting for coupling parks and grade school campuses to creek trails across our valley floor , and including every city from mountain to the bay. Campbell was a key Town for an interconnected arrangement of creeks and parks, with nature habitats. An important park was the "Winchester site"., an important waterway was Los Gatos creek , the residency of the new 369 unit Creekside Apartment developement built in 1996.

It was easy to see that Campbell was quickly losing its vision as characteristically a beautiful small Town Community with important creeks.

The answer for restoring small Town values lies, in part, in looking inwardly through providing new services that build a community. Here are some suggested interlocking services that help progress and also keep us an important, small town, bedroom community.

1. Community Teen Social & Technology Experience Center offering "Can do" activities with Parents & Staff

2. Library Center for research on business and technology

3. Attractive Community Recreation and nature parks

4. Special Montessori children's center for learning through play, and at Library's to be acquired "Gingerbread" House

5. Enhancement of property & hometown values of our residential community through RDA policies & practices

6. Senior students teaching grades K-6 Kids in a community services program sponsored by H.S.Board & City Council

7. School-City-Private Action Group funding high school education in languages, science, & technology

I hope you agree. If not call me.
