Public education is a community effort. Our children need our help to create better schools.
Occupation: Appointed Incumbent/Parent/Business & Civic Leader

Education and Qualifications:

MBA; University of Phoenix, BSBA; San Jose State University

Public education is a community effort. Our children need our help to create better schools. I have successfully worked in private industry for 16 years. I led San Jose's Human Rights Commission for nearly three years. As a parent of a successful graduate of the district and a future graduate, I've had the opportunity to work with various school site committees.

After a thorough examination by the community and school board, I was appointed to the board in June 1998. It was determined that I was the most qualified for the position.

With your support, I want to continue the work I have started. I am asking you to allow me to turn our shared vision of better schools into a reality.

The vision includes students who are exceptionally prepared for the many challenges that the future holds. It guarantees success to all students. The vision has schools that have high performance standards, focused incentives, objective measurements and appropriate rewards. It includes schools that have high degrees of safety and discipline.

I call you to action to join me in the quest for our children's future.
