Etablishing a better system to recruit and retain top educators.

By Debbie Locke

Candidate for Governing Board Member; Berryessa Union School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Working with the State of California and conducting continuos interviews, we will find and keep the best educators for our district.
Conducting continuos interviews and attending job fairs is an opportunity for Berryessa schools to find the best educators available. Many other school districts are attending career fairs across the State and we should be one of them. Berryessa schools should not be an after thought for top educators and new educators, we should be the first thought. To keep up with today's demands for teachers we must let it be known that we are here, and that we have the best schools with the best benefits.
We must also work with the State of California to find affordable housing and transportation to support and retain the best educators for our children. Our housing cost are simply to high and our best teachers, staff and administrators are being forced out of our community. We can no longer afford to lose these people.
