Many people in our community, in fact, in the nation, are concerned about finance reform. In a local election there are rules about finance but no limits. I feel very strongly that campaign spending be limited to something realistic and something that enables as many as possible to consider running. In addition, I want as many people as possible to feel they can get involved without needing to make large contributions.

To those ends, I have set a campaign budget under $10,000 which allows me to communicate with many via mail but which requires my attendance at forums and requires precinct walking to reach everyone. I also have insisted my campaign accept no contributions over $99 from an individual or a PAC (political action committee).

I have not, and will not, challenge any other candidate to follow my limits. However, my limits have worked well for me in past elections and I feel very comfortable with them.
