MOVED TO S.B. CTY. IN 1945, SETTLED IN CARPINTERIA IN MARCH, 1957. GRADUATED FROM CARP. HIGHSCHOOL IN 1962. SPENT ONE YEAR AT SBCC, MOVED TO OREGON, ONE YEAR AT MULTNOMAH COLLEGE, WORKED, RETURNED TO S. B..WORKED, GOT MARRIED. THREE YEARS AND TWO CHILDREN LATER, DIVORCED, ATTENDED BEAUTY COLLEGE, STARTED WORKING, BOUGHT COCO'S BEAUTY SALON IN 1975. WAS VERY INVOLVED IN EXTRA-CIRRICULAR CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS IN GRAMMER SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL, SO DECIDED TO GET INVOLVED IN CARPINTERIA. WE WERE CELEBRATING THE CITIES 10TH ANNIVERSARY, THAT YEAR, HELPED PUT THE SHOW TOGETHER WORKED MY FIRST ST. JOE'S FESTIVAL, IN THE TACO AND ENCHILLADA BOOTH, AM STILL AM DOING SO AS OF LAST SUMMER. BECAME ACTIVE IN THE LOU GRANT PARENT CHILD WORKSHOP, CANALINO SCHOOL VOLUNTEER PARENT AIDE, WORKED CANALINO FESTIVAL. ACTIVE IN AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMENS' ASSOCIATION, CANALINO AND ALISO SCHOOLS ROOMMOTHER, FOR BOTH OF MY CHILDREN. WAS ASKED TO JOIN THE GIRL'S CLUB BOARD, HELPED COACH GIRL'S CLUB BASEBALL, AND TAUGHT A COOKING CLASS FOR SEVERAL YEARS. WAS ASKED TO JOIN THE BOYS AND GIRL'S CLUB BOARD, COACHED BOYS TEE BALL FOR 2 YEARS. AM STILL CURRENTLY ON THE BOYS AND GIRL'S CLUB BOARD, AS VICE PRESIDENT. HAVE CHAIRED ALONE OR WITH VICECHAIRMEN OUR ANNUAL B.AND G. CLUB AUCTION 4 TIMES, AND WAS A PART OF THE ORIGINAL COMMITTEE THAT ORGINATED THIS EVENT. WAS ACTIVE AS A HIGHSCHOOL MUSES' PARENT WITH MY DAUGHTER, JOINED THE HIGHSCHOOL BOOSTERS CLUB, HELPED WITH PRE-GAME MEALS FOR 6 YEARS, FOR THE FOOTBALL TEAM, WITH MY SON. AM STILL ACTIVELY INVOLVED WITH BOOSTERS, AND HAVE HELPED AT KINDERKIRK,WITH MY GRANDSON. WAS VERY INVOLVED WITH THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN FOR GIRL'S INC. NEW BUILDING SITE. I HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED BY KIWANI'S, LIONS CLUB, ROTARY ANDF THE UNITED B. AND G. CLUB FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO EACH ORGANIZATION. AM CURRENTLY PRESIDENT OF HELP OF CARPINTERIA, A VOLUNTEER RIDE SERVICE; LOCALLY AND IN S.B.. HAVE BEEN ACTIVE IN SOROPTIMISTS OF CARPINTERIA. AM VERY INTERESTED IN OUR CHILDREN OF TODAY, AS FUTURE LEADERS OF TOMORROW. WOULD LIKE TO SEE OUR BEACHES AND STREAMS CLEANED UP, MORE PLAYING FIELDS, A"LAS POSITAS PARK" ATHMOSPHERE, SOMEWHERE IN THIS VALLEY. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE BOTH OF MY CHILDREN BE ABLE TO STAY, LIVE AND WORK HERE,IF HOMES WERE AVAILABLE,BUT TO BE REALISTIC THAT MIGHT NOT BE POSSIBLE, KNOWING THAT NOT EVERYONE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STAY HERE. LETS ALL WORK TOGETHER TO SEE IF WE CAN KEEP CARP. OUR SMALL TOWN ATHMOSPHERE, BUT WITH PROGRESSIVE IDEAS, THANK YOU, PAT KEISER VALLEY.
