This information is provided by the candidate

I grew up in Carpinteria, attending our schools from second grade through high school. My ardent support for community and schools developed as a result of support I received during difficult family times in my high school years. I have tried to serve the community ever since. In addition to serving on the School Board, I was a founding director on the Las Positas Park Foundation; I am active on various Girls, Inc. project committees; I serve on Boys & Girls Club committees; I am on the Carpinteria Valley Chamber of Commerce Executive Board; I chair the Junior Carpinterian Scholarship Committee; I serve on the joint City/Chamber Project Carpinteria Committee; I participated in Carpinteria's Vision 2020 process; and I am an active member in the Carpinteria Rotary Club. In addition to my active participation in these organizations, I am also an active fundraiser for each of them. In 1992 I was honored as Carpinteria of the Year at the community's annual awards banquet.

I am employed by Montecito Bank & Trust as Vice President and Branch Manager at the Carpinteria Branch which I opened in 1986. I have been with the Bank for fifteen years and in the financial field for thirty years. My work experience has enabled me to assist the School District in financial, legal, personnel, real estate and strategic planning issues. I have served as President of the Carpinteria School Board since 1992.
