A Little More About Kathy Matthews

My family and I have lived in the San Juan Water District for over twenty years. I have participated in community planning and project reviews and I have actively supported resource conservation and protection. I understand the importance of water in our everyday lives. As the need for high quality water increases statewide, our local supplies are already being subjected to continuing challenges. Retaining our current water supply and securing adequate future supplies will require creative and innovative management, as well as the ability to negotiate among various competing interests. Planning for our water future will require good people skills to co-ordinate the many agencies involved in determining "who gets how much, where, and when".

My job experience has focused on community resource planning and analysis -- helping people to work with agencies to resolve their concerns. I enjoy working with people and make it a point to listen to what they have to say. Open responsiveness to community and customer concerns have always come first with me. With your support, I am looking forward to continuing my service for our water future, working as a member of the Board at San Juan Water District.
