"No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it." Albert Einstein

My name is Annette Emery and I am a candidate for the Grant Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees. The District needs leadership which will concentrate on making sure that the students in the District are being prepared for their future as leaders in our community.

The Grant District can be turned around by changing the mindsets which created the problems. By we, I mean all of our partners in the District - teachers, staff, administrators, parents, students, community members and the Board. We have had our differences in the past but the time has come to put the past behind us and work together to assure excellence in education for the Grant District.

We must look forward to our future. Many of the programs, elements and people are in place for educational excellence and only need to be supported and held accountable to a higher standard. Let's work together to develop a vision for the Grant Joint Union High School District - a vision which includes policies to ensure that the 11,500 students in this district get the education they need and deserve.
