Full Biography for Byron M Buck

Candidate for
Director; Arcade Water District

This information is provided by the candidate

My educational and professional experience provides a solid background to help guide the Arcade Water District. In addition to ten years in the environmental planning field, I have ten years in public water district management, the last three overseeing an association of the state's twelve largest water districts serving over 22 million people statewide. In March of 1998, I was deemed the most qualified candidate and appointed to the District's Board after a competitive interview process

On a daily basis I deal with the cutting-edge issues of California water and thus bring this perspective to our local region. Innovations statewide can have important implications and opportunities locally.

Arcade Water District faces competitive challenges in managing its water resources for the future. A declining ground water table, impending federal rules on well water treatment, possible use of surface water from the American River, development of a sensible conservation program, rehabilitation of wells and pipeline distribution system and regional cooperation with other water districts and the City of Sacramento all must be addressed in order to maintain a safe, reliable and affordable water supply.
