Growth

By Shenna J. Moqeet

Candidate for City Council Member; City of Calimesa

This information is provided by the candidate
Controlled Growth is a touchy subject...many say the words, but no one elaborates. What does it mean to me?
I believe that a city government must be the voice of the people that live in the community now. The majority of citizens of Calimesa have expressed their concerns about rampant growth here. Most say they moved here for the rural, peaceful, uncongested and friendly atmosphere this town offers today. We all know that growth must occur, but how it does should reflect the needs and wants of the townspeople who live here now. By controlled growth I mean that you, the people of Calimesa, control the growth. Not the developers, not special interests, and not Council Members who refuse to listen to your wants and needs. The purpose of a City Council is to represent and reflect what the citizens desire, not a Council persons own agenda.
