Paul McDonnell is currently the Treasurer-Tax Collector of Riverside County. He manages the County's $1.6 billion investment portfolio and supervises a staff of 52 employees engaged in revenue collection and cash management functions. Mr. McDonnell was appointed to the position by a unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors on February 10, 1998. His goal is to bring private sector experience and profesionalism to the Office of the Treasurer-Tax Collector.

Prior to his appointment Mr. McDonnell spent over nineteeen years in the financial services industry, during which he worked for some of Wall Street's biggest firms. His experience includes managing over $4 billion of securities transactions and advising some of California's largest cities and counties. Immediately prior to joining the County he served as its outside financial advisor and played a key role in structuring an innnovative tax receivables finanicng program which is saving millions in taxpayer dollars.

During his tenure as Treasurer-Tax Collector his accomplishments include:

Obtaining "AAA" ratings on the County's Investments
Opening a new office to serve the Coachella Valley
Expanding the use of the Internet for public access
Installing new computer imaging equipment
Achieving record high tax collection rate

Mr. McDonnell earned an MBA in finance from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley. He is married and has four children.
