Water Rates

By Kevin D. Jeffries

Candidate for Director; Western Municipal Water District; Division 3

This information is provided by the candidate
In just over 9 years, water rates have increased 130%.
As taxpayers and customers, we continue to get hit with increased water rates. Most property owners will also find hidden "Standby" taxes on their property tax bill.

The person you elect as your Director is supposed to represent you and your concerns to the water district - not the other way around. I will first seek spending cuts before rate increases. Instead of expanding government services (and costs), I will seek internal streamlining.

Western Municipal Water District serves you either as your local water provider, or as the wholesale middleman to your neighborhood water company (such as Elsinore Valley, Rancho California, March Air Force Base, El Sobrante and Riverside City). Western MWD has the option of purchasing other sources of water and/or drilling wells. These other sources could help to hold the line on the cost of water in the future. I will seek every option to control costs and secure new water sources for our future.

I would be honored to serve as your representative. I ask for your vote November 3rd.
