By Gary Amy

Candidate for Mayor; City of Cathedral City

This information is provided by the candidate
The image of the city, specifically the image of the city government has a large influence on businesses deciding to locate to our city.
Cathedral City needs a cohesive unified City Council representing them. It is time for a fresh approach and it is time to have an effective leader as your Mayor.

An effective leader is a team builder and leads by example. An effective leader listens to all viewpoints and works to find the right compromise. An effective leader is a consensus builder.

While employed as an Air Traffic Controller for 17 years, I have held several positions of management and attended numerous leadership courses. I held the position, President of the National Air Traffic Controlllers Association, Palm Springs Local, for five years. While in that position I attended the George Meany Institute of Labor Relations and specilized in conflict resolution.

For two terms as your City Council member I have represented you with honesty, integrity, and good common sense. Because of my numerous community activities I know the people of the community and what they want from city government. I am the most experienced and qualified to be your Mayor and lead the new City Council.

The Desert Sun stated, "He has demonstrated his ability as a quiet, but effective council member wiling to bring a team-building approach to this job".
