"As a citizen and an elected official, I do not tolerate waste, fraud, incompetence or restrictions on the Public's right to participate in their government. Government only works well when citizen input is encoraged and acted on."

Sullivan on the issues...

Bolsa Chica: Dave Sullivan has been a leader in the fight to preserve and protect the entire Bolsa Chica from money-grubbing developers. Sullivan co-authored Measure C which gives the public the right to vote on public land issues.

El Toro Airport: Dave Sullivan is against any new airports in Orange County that are not supported by the surrounding communities. Sullivan supports the non-aviation Millennium Plan which is clearly the "highest and best use" for El Toro. The Millennium Plan produces the greatest economic return and social benefit while minimizing the environmental impacts of reuse. Sullivan believes this alternative will unify our county which has been divided over this issue by self-serving special interest groups.

Bankruptcy: Dave Sullivan will reform the system of government that led Orange County to bankruptcy. Sullivan will reform entrenched bureaucratic systems including district prerogative, which surrenders important public issues to minority interests and undermines democratic principles.

Economic Growth: Dave Sullivan will promote economic growth consistent with the quality of life Orange County residents have come to enjoy.

Open Government: Dave Sullivan believes that the Board of Supervisors meetings must be televised. Increased public awareness leads to more knowledgeable decisions and less waste in government.

As a leader on the Huntington Beach City Council, Dave Sullivan has successfully fought for taxpayers:

  • Dave Sullivan stopped salary spiking and saved taxpayers $15 million.

  • Dave Sullivan blocked excessive pay increases, saving taxpayers $20 million.

  • Dave Sullivan battled the ill-conceived Koll development project at Bolsa Chica which would have resulted in millions of dollars in un-reimbursed subsidies and spoiled the fragile Bolsa Chica ecosystem.
