Dan was born on April 4, 1959 in Ventura, California. He is a third generation Orange resident and attended Immanuel Lutheran School, Orange from K-8 and graduated from Orange Lutheran High School in 1977. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Cal State Fullerton in 1985 and immediately embarked on his career of residential real estate broker at Orange Realty. For at least the last five years, Dan has been the top producing realtor in the city of Orange. Dan successfully ran for city council in the fall of 1994, and was chosen by his colleagues in November, 1996 to be Mayor Pro Tem.

Dan lives in Old Towne and has just finished restoring his home, a 1923 California Bungalow. In his "spare time", Dan enjoys community involvement, gardening, backpacking, skiing, outdoor adventure, and traveling. Within the past 2 years he toured Australia, New Zealand, Israel, and Egypt.

One of Dan's passions is the reforestation of Orange. He is very proud of the Tree Hero award he received in April 1996 from California Re-LEAF.

  • Chairman of 1992 and 1993 Mayor's Prayer Breakfasts
  • Chairman of the Orange County - City Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Authority

  • Founding Member of Pitcher Park Committee
  • Member of Orange Chamber of Commerce
  • Past Member of Orange Unified School District's Fiscal Advisory Council (OUSD appointed)
  • Business division leader for YMCA 1994 support campaign
  • Member of Leadership Orange Class of 1994 and Chairman of class project
  • Member of the Pacific West Association of Realtors
  • Member of Christian Business Men's Committee of Orange
  • Founder and active member of Orange For Trees
  • Led fundraising efforts for Boy Scouts and Orange Senior Center
  • Founding Board Member for Pitcher Park (a neighborhood park/arboretum in Old Towne Orange)

  • Chairman of Orange County-City Hazardous Material Emergency Response Authority
  • Member (representing Orange, Villa Park and Tustin) of Orange County Council of Governments
