Roy Russell - a third generation Santa Ana resident, attended Santa Ana public schools, graduated Santa Ana High School, and Santa Ana College. After serving in the US Navy Submarine Service, I graduated from California State University, Long Beach. My wife and I are parents of four children who are attending or have graduated from Santa Ana public schools. My profession is implementation of computer technology.

I am committed to our youth and to ensure that Santa Ana children have the tools for success. My record shows several years of service to schools, volunteering hundreds of hours to help integrate computer technology, primarily at Santa Ana High, Willard Intermediate, ROP and other sites. I have helped set up computer labs and systems for students and staff, helped to computerize libraries and assisted students and staff in the use of technology. For 10 years I have served on the Executive Advisory Board of ROP (Career and Vocational Training Branch of local school districts).

My community involvement includes service in the PTA, school technology and site councils, SAUSD Legislative Committee, Superintendent's Parent Cabinet, the Santa Ana 2000 Technology Committee, and Math Department Chair Meetings. I have served in several neighborhood organizations, community representative on the city Library Technology Committee, and past chairman of the Santa Ana Code Enforcement Board.
