Higher Your Expectations for a NEW Choice

I believe it is time for new choices in our city government.

Taxes & Business

I am the New Choice to reduce our existing taxes and eliminate the unnecessary 4% Utility Tax. Our city should spend the money it is entitled to as efficiently as possible. The Utility Tax should be considered a temporary stop gap and the time has come to eliminate it.

Our business community should be strengthened and the city should concentrate on making the city attractive to new business which would enhance the business community.

We have seen many of our business move to cities boardering our community taking away precious city revenues. Other cities should not be the beneficiaries of our community. Our city shopping and business centers should be revitalized and brought up to date.

Traffic

I am the New Choice to make the right choices to reduce traffic congestion. The proposed $312 million dollar railraod lower should be properly evaluated with input from the community. We must insure that the city is not saddled with a huge debt with little benefit. Other solutions should be put forth and debated. Other surrounding cities should also participate with this project and funds must be secured from other sources other than the city.

What is the benefit to the city for the $62 million dollar per mile price tag?

Will the lowering actually reduce congestion and would the reduction justify the cost?

Would other alternative be more cost effective?

Police Protection

I am the New Choice for strong police protection.

Our Police Department should be manned and equipped to a level appropriate to the size of our city. Outdated equipment should be replaced and additional man power should be obtained for proper coverage of the city.

Recent newspaper articles show that crime is on the rise in Placentia. We should nip crime in the bud now and provide the people who protect and serve our community the support they need.

Vote for the "New Choice" for Placentia.

Vote for "Higher" expectations.

Vote for " John G. Hoevers". (4th on the ballot.)
