Position Papers
Public Safety
The present City Council cut 22 Police positions. Garden Grove has less than 1 officer per thousand residents. This is the lowest in the nation for cities of 100,000 or more population. When I am elected, I will do everything in my power to regain those positions and restore safety and security to our Community.
Redevelopment
The City has presently spent in excess of $150,000,000 in redevelopment funds. The Agency has run out of money. While I am for redevelopment, I believe that we must spend our shrinking funds in a more responsible manner. We must guarantee that there is a return on our investment which will ensure that there is enough money in the general fund to balance the budget without mortgaging the future of our children and grandchildren.
